HydroVac, Vactor & Catch Basin Cleaning
Klean Lots provides hydro excavation and vactor service across King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Thurston County — daylighting around buried utilities, potholing, catch basin and storm structure cleaning, and vacuum cleanup in areas a sweeper cannot reach. Call (253) 410-0159.
Hydro excavation exists because mechanical digging near a live utility is a bad bet. Pressurized water breaks up soil and a vacuum removes it, so you expose a gas line, a fiber run, or a water main without touching it. The same truck is what cleans out a catch basin full of sediment, clears a plugged storm line, or vacuums the corner of a site that no sweeper can physically reach.

How it works
- 1
Call (253) 410-0159 with the location, what is buried, and how deep you need to go.
- 2
We confirm access, water source, and disposal, then schedule the unit.
- 3
Spoils are vacuumed, hauled, and disposed of, and the area is swept afterward if it is on pavement.
Permits, compliance & why this matters
Catch basin cleaning is a routine maintenance requirement under NPDES municipal stormwater permits, and clean structures are one of the first things an inspector checks. Daylighting before excavation is the standard practice for avoiding utility strikes near live lines, and it is frequently required outright by the utility owner.

HydroVac & Vactor Services: common questions
What is hydro excavation used for?
Exposing buried utilities safely before you dig — gas, fiber, water, power. Pressurized water loosens the soil and a vacuum removes it, so nothing mechanical contacts the line. It is also used for potholing, trenching in tight areas, and cleaning out structures.
How often should catch basins be cleaned?
Most jurisdictions expect inspection at least annually and cleaning when sediment reaches a defined depth in the sump. Properties with heavy truck traffic, nearby construction, or lots of tree cover fill up faster and need more frequent service.
Do you handle disposal of the slurry?
Yes. We haul spoils to approved disposal with our own trucks. Tell us if the material may be contaminated, because that changes where it can go.
Need hydrovac & vactor services in the Puget Sound?
Tell us the site and the schedule and we will send a written quote. Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm, with 24/7 response during snow and ice events.
