Street Sweeping in King, Snohomish, Pierce & Thurston County
Klean Lots provides contract street sweeping throughout King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Thurston County in Washington. We run both regenerative air and mechanical broom sweepers, work day or night shifts, and take everything from a one-time cleanup to daily sweeping on a multi-year infrastructure project. Call (253) 410-0159 or email contracts@kleanlots.com for a quote.
Street sweeping is the difference between a job site that passes inspection and one that gets a phone call from the city. Material tracked out onto a public road becomes a traffic hazard, an air quality problem once it dries, and a stormwater violation once it rains. Our sweepers clear travel lanes, shoulders, curb lines, intersections, and haul route approaches, and we can run alongside live traffic under an approved traffic control plan.

What street sweeping from Klean Lots includes
Travel lanes and curb line
Full-width sweeping of the roadway including gutter pans and curb lines, where the heaviest sediment collects.
Haul route and access points
Repeat passes at site entrances, wheel wash exits, and the arterials your trucks use, which is where track-out actually happens.
Night and off-peak windows
Sweeping scheduled around lane closures and traffic restrictions so you are not paying for a sweeper stuck behind traffic control.
Post-storm and emergency response
Callouts for spills, blow-downs, sanding residue after a freeze, and anything else that puts material on the road unexpectedly.
Documented service
Tickets and timestamps for each pass so you have a record for the owner, the inspector, or the general contractor.
Equipment we run

Who we do this for
- General contractors on WSDOT, Sound Transit, county, and city work
- Municipalities and utility districts needing contract or overflow sweeping

- Property managers with private roads and long access drives
How it works
- 1
Call (253) 410-0159 or send the scope to contracts@kleanlots.com with the location and frequency you need.
- 2
We walk or map the route, confirm access windows, traffic control needs, and disposal, and send a written quote.
- 3
Crews mobilize from our Kent yard or Tacoma office, typically covering most Puget Sound sites within the same business day for recurring work.
- 4
You get a service record for each pass, and we adjust frequency as the site changes.
Permits, compliance & why this matters
Sweeping supports Ecology's Construction Stormwater General Permit and the NPDES municipal stormwater permits that King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Thurston County jurisdictions operate under. It is the standard corrective action when a stabilized construction entrance (BMP C105) or wheel wash (BMP C106) is not fully catching track-out, and it reduces the fine sediment that drives turbidity exceedances at the discharge point.

Street Sweeping: common questions
Do you sweep in King County and Snohomish County?
Yes. Klean Lots sweeps throughout King County, Snohomish County, Pierce County, and Thurston County, including Seattle, Bellevue, Kent, Renton, Federal Way, Redmond, Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville, Tacoma, Puyallup, and Fife. Our yard is in Kent and we keep an office in Tacoma.
How much does street sweeping cost in the Seattle area?
Pricing depends on sweeper type, shift timing, mobilization distance, how much material is on the road, and where it gets disposed. Recurring routes cost less per pass than one-time callouts, and night work carries a shift premium. Call (253) 410-0159 for a quote on your specific scope.
What is the difference between a regenerative air sweeper and a mechanical broom?
A mechanical broom physically sweeps heavy material — gravel, mud, rock, construction debris — into a hopper, and it is the right tool for a dirty construction site. A regenerative air sweeper uses a recirculating air stream to lift fine particulate off the pavement, which is what you want for stormwater compliance and dust, and for finished surfaces you do not want scoured. We run both and pick based on the material.
Can you sweep at night or around lane closures?
Yes. A large share of our infrastructure work runs on night shifts inside approved traffic control. Tell us the closure window and we will schedule to it.
How quickly can you respond to a spill or emergency?
For active contract customers we mobilize the same day, and often within a few hours depending on where the site is and what else is running. Call (253) 410-0159 — do not email an emergency.
